Cartoni Alfa Fluid Head
This is the CARTONI for the new generation of light-weight ENG Professional Video Cameras. The ALFA provides fast and simple dynamic counterbalancing of cameras loads up to 8 Kg (17 lbs). The camera weight is counterbalanced by a single group of helicoidal springs which can be disengaged while shooting with ultra-light video cameras by simply flipping a lever.
The quick release sliding plate combined with 3 presettable counterbalance tilt angles allow the camera to be perfectly balanced and easily mounted. The Alfa "Dual Drag" (DD) system combines the patented Cartoni "labyrinth" module with an advanced lubricated friction drag mechanism providing the widest range of infinitely variable precise settings.
On the pan mode the ON/OFF selector allows the damping system to be activated separately or simultaneously.
On OFF position the lubricated friction mechanism works separately for whip pans, providing excellent smoothness and linear movements.
Lubricated friction and fluid drag can be simultaneously activated by setting the relevant selector to position ON while a continously variable control knob provides consistent drag levels with the DD system activated either separately or simultaneously. On the tilt mode the "labyrinth" module and the lubrificated friction mechanism operate at the same time ensuring different drag levels to be achieved by simply turning the relevant knob.
The CARTONI ALFA comes equipped with a 95 mm bowl-type base and a telescopic handle.
A three tube flip-clamping aluminium tripod with built-in spreader provides for outstanding lightness and stability allowing the system to be easily carried and rapidly deployed into action.
