A major design of the DRX4700 Digital Interface System is the flexibility to select one of three rack frame sizes to suit the needs of any installation, each one designed to accepts any mix of DRX series audio or video interface cards.
The DRX4701 is a 1U frame with one power supply (DRX4700) and holds two cards. The DRX4702 2U rack holds one PSU and 6 cards while drx 4704 4U rack holds 13 cards with just one PSU fitted or 12 cards with a back up PSU fitted.
Many modules are designed to have multiple channels providing for an unrivalled package density of up to 70 functions in 4U.
The front door of each frame is hinged and can be removed completely without using any tools.
All cards and PSUs are mounted into the frames horizontally from the front and each frame has centre mounted, multiple fan assemblies for cool running and reliability. All 1U, 2U and 4U frames incorporate a fan cassette system which is removable from the front of the rack enabling fans to be changed without removing power to the cards.

Analogue and serial digital outputs are available to enable component, composite or SDI monitors to be used.
A genlock input is available to allow synchronisation with other equipment. A re-clocked output derived directly from each input is available.
Full video bandwidth broadcast quality analogue or SDI output is available if any single channel is selected with minimal reduction in quad split mode.
Channels idents and error messaging are included and a border between displays can be inserted with a choice of colour.
Control is via the front panel or remote port.
The output formats and control features are optional to allow the user to specify the configuration required. This allows cost effective expansion to a 16 to 1 monitor display.
