DIGITAL PRODIGY

THE SWITCHER WITH MORE BRAIN POWER IN A FAMILIAR PACKAGE

A Small Production System with Large Switcher Features

Videotek's Digital Prodigy 10-input serial digital production switcher builds on a proven intuitive design well-received by broadcasters and industrial video producers alike. While retaining the original Prodigy control architecture and edit interfaces, Digital Produgy has been designed with current and future user needs in mind. Features include two upstream keyers and two downstream keyers (second downstream keyer optional)

Digital Prodigy features five serial digital video inputs, plus options for additional analog composite, component, or serial digital inputs. The Digital Prodigy system has the capability to add routing control for uses such as external auxiliary buses, input expansion (to 18 inputs), or external key bus control. Digital Prodigy has enhanced audio follow options that provide up to 16 channels of analog audio or 32 channels of AES/EBU or embedded digital audio. Digital Prodigy is at home in broadcast master control rooms (useful for multiple SDTV operations), post production, industrial and educational production systems. It has all the power needed for the most demanding serial digital video television plants.

Powerful Multi-Level Mix-Effects System

A reliable industry standard video switching and effects system provides multi-layer effects and look-ahead preview. Digital Prodigy can handle six layers of video and multi-channel audio. We've added optional analog and digital audio frames, starting with basic stereo analog through 32 channels of embedded digital audio. An optional RS-422 serial port links Digital Prodigy to most popular editing controllers and other intelligence devices.

Digital Prodigy has a powerful linear keying system with two internal upstream video key buses, three external key inputs and up to two downstream keyers. Combined background, key and downstream key transitions provide powerful multi-level capability. Twenty-four wipe patterns, including star and heart, are standard. Hard, soft and hard/soft bordered wipe edges with variable inside to outside softness balance and colorizer produce an almost limitless number of effects. Digital Prodigy's Pattern Memory System enables storage and recall of wipe patterns with all modifiers. Editing systems can also recal all modified effects through the standard editor interface.

Let Digital Prodigy Do the Work for You
